A visit to the world of technology – Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum


Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum (VITM) was built in honour of Bharat Ratna Sir M Visvesvaraya in Bangalore. VITM is spread across 4000 sq. metres and is within the magnificent Cubbon park. It houses various engines and industrial products. VITM was inaugurated by the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in 1962.

VITM is the best place to visit with your child during the weekends. It will be very interesting for your kids to know about the history of technological inventions from zippers to jet engines. The Museum houses 5 main galleries that exhibit computational devices, electronics, telecommunications, motor power, aviation and other concepts of science. Explore the fun science gallery to know more about fluids, perceptions and maths. A visit can be a great learning experience for your child. There is a section which is dedicated to the famous Indian astronaut Kalpana Chawla at the Space gallery.
